Visit the many historical sites. In Inveraray (16 miles away) is the Duke of Argyll's castle, maritime and jail museums, and 8 miles further south, the old Highland village museum of Auchindrain. At Dunadd (25m), beyond Lochgilphead, the Kings of Scotland were enthroned in the middle ages, and, near to Dunadd, is Temple Wood, a prehistoric stone circle.
